Terms of Service

1. Acceptance

By creating an account or using Grasstile (“Service”, “we”, “us”), you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Public beta

Grasstile is currently available as a public beta. During beta:

  • New accounts receive beta access by default unless we temporarily re-enable waitlisting for capacity, safety, or abuse reasons.
  • Beta access grants use of core features, which may change before the full public release.
  • Payment flows are available to beta or active users where Stripe checkout is configured for their region.
  • No credit card is required to start on the Seed free tier.
  • We may adjust features, limits, pricing, and availability during beta with reasonable notice where practical.

3. The Service

Grasstile provides a travel planning tool and daily outdoor activity suggestions. We offer a free tier (“Seed”) and paid tiers (“Sprout” and “Bloom”). Features and limits for each tier are described on the Pricing page.

4. Your account

  • You must be at least 16 years old to create an account.
  • You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure.
  • One account per person. Creating multiple accounts to abuse the free tier or trial is prohibited.
  • You may delete your account at any time via Settings. Deletion is permanent.

5. Subscriptions & billing

  • Paid subscriptions (Sprout, Bloom) are billed monthly or annually depending on the plan you select.
  • Payments are processed by Stripe. By subscribing, you also agree to Stripe's terms.
  • Checkout behavior (Stripe): our app starts a Stripe subscription with an incomplete first invoice and uses Stripe's Payment Element to collect a default payment method. You are charged when that first invoice succeeds. If a free trial is configured on the specific Stripe Price you choose, Stripe shows trial dates and the first charge amount before you confirm — we do not promise a trial on every price; follow what Stripe displays at checkout and in your Stripe receipt email.
  • The Bloom tier is offered as a recurring subscription (monthly or annual). There is no lifetime purchase option.
  • Monthly and annual subscriptions can be cancelled at any time through the Stripe customer portal (linked from account settings). You retain access until the end of the current billing period. We do not refund partial periods except where mandatory consumer law requires.
  • After you downgrade or cancel a paid plan, higher-tier features may become unavailable; your existing trips and content generally remain viewable within the limits of your then-current tier (see in-app limits on the Pricing page).
  • We reserve the right to change prices with 30 days' notice to existing subscribers.
  • Founder / “OG” promotional pricing (if offered) applies only while that offer remains available in the product; it is not a lifetime license to the software.
  • During beta, paid plans may not be available to all users or regions. Billing is enabled only for beta or active accounts.

6. Free tier limits

The Seed (free) tier includes up to 5 trips (31-day trip length cap), 10 planning uses per month, up to 5 collaborators per trip, 500 MB photo storage (50 photos), Touch Grass with limited daily refreshes, and access to 4 themes. Exact numbers may be updated in the app; the Pricing page reflects the current plan. Exceeding a limit will prompt you to upgrade; we will not delete your existing data when you hit a limit.

7. Your content

You own the trip data, photos, and notes you create. By using the Service you grant us a limited license to store and display your content to provide the Service (e.g., showing your photos in the app, generating suggestions you requested, or generating a shared trip link you requested).

You must not upload content that is illegal, infringes third-party rights, or contains malware. We may remove content that violates these Terms.

8. Generated plans & outdoor safety

Generated itineraries, outdoor suggestions, and activity recommendations are created automatically and may contain errors, outdated information, or suggestions that are unsuitable for your circumstances. Always verify travel advice (visa requirements, opening hours, permits, safety conditions) through official sources before acting on it.

Outdoor safety: Outdoor suggestions may be unsuitable due to weather, trail closures, terrain difficulty, available daylight, personal fitness, accessibility requirements, local laws, or other safety conditions. You are solely responsible for assessing conditions and using good judgment before going outside or traveling.

We are not liable for decisions made based on generated plans or outdoor suggestions.

9. Feedback & communications

Users may voluntarily submit feedback, bug reports, suggestions, inconsistencies, testimonials, or other messages by email to spikethegreenyboy@gmail.com. The app may also offer in-app forms (for example “beta feedback” or “report a bad suggestion”) that store your message, optional category, coarse page context, and a hashed IP address for abuse protection — not for marketing lists.

We read submissions and use them to improve the Service. We may not be able to respond to every message. Submitting feedback does not create any obligation on our part to implement suggestions. Final product decisions remain with Grasstile.

10. Acceptable use

You must not:

  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other users' accounts or data.
  • Scrape or bulk-export data from the Service via automated means.
  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, or copy any part of the Service.
  • Use the Service in a way that violates any applicable law.
  • Abuse the collaboration or sharing features to spam other users.

11. Service availability

We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may perform maintenance, update the Service, or change or discontinue features with reasonable notice where practical. During pre-launch, features may change or be removed without notice.

12. Disclaimer of warranties

The Service is provided “as is” without warranty of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose.

13. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for any claim arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim (or €10 if you are on the free tier). We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.

14. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Finland. Disputes will be resolved in the courts of Helsinki, Finland, except where mandatory consumer protection law in your country requires otherwise.

15. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. We will notify you by email at least 14 days before material changes take effect. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
