Terms of service
Last updated: August 28, 2026
1. Acceptance
By creating an account or using Grasstile (the “Service”, “we”, or “us”), you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. Closed beta
Grasstile’s closed beta is currently free. Paid plans and Tile purchases are unavailable.
- New non-admin accounts join the waitlist by default. Access to core beta features begins only after an administrator approves the account.
- Beta access grants use of core features, which may change before the full public release.
- Purchases are unavailable during the closed beta.
- No credit card is required to start on the Seed free tier.
- We may adjust features, limits, pricing, and availability during beta with reasonable notice where practical.
3. The Service
Grasstile provides a travel planning tool and daily outdoor activity suggestions. We offer a free tier (“Seed”) and paid tiers (“Sprout” and “Bloom”). Features and limits for each tier are described on the Pricing page.
4. Your account
- You must be at least 16 years old to create an account.
- You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure.
- One account per person. Creating multiple accounts to abuse the free tier or trial is prohibited.
- You may delete your account at any time through Settings. Deletion is permanent and is processed within 30 days. See our Privacy policy.
5. Subscriptions and billing
- Purchases are unavailable during the closed beta. Existing paid subscriptions may have been billed monthly or annually, depending on the plan selected.
- Payments are processed by Stripe. By subscribing, you also agree to Stripe's terms.
- Historical checkout behavior (Stripe): before purchases were paused, Grasstile used Stripe’s Payment Element to collect a default payment method and charged when the first invoice succeeded. When a free trial was configured on the selected Stripe Price, Stripe displayed the trial dates and first charge before confirmation. We did not promise a trial on every price; Stripe’s checkout display and receipt governed the transaction.
- Existing Bloom subscriptions are recurring monthly or annual subscriptions. There is no lifetime purchase option.
- New plan changes are paused. Existing subscriber access remains active; contact support for billing changes or cancellation. You keep access until the current billing period ends. We do not refund partial periods unless mandatory consumer law requires it.
- After you downgrade or cancel a paid plan, higher-tier features may become unavailable. Your existing trips and content generally remain viewable within the limits of your then-current tier.
- We reserve the right to change prices with 30 days' notice to existing subscribers.
- Founder or “OG” promotional pricing, if offered, is a discounted recurring subscription price. A subscription started at a founder price keeps that price while it remains continuously active. If it is cancelled or lapses, resubscribing uses the then-current regular price. Founder pricing is not a lifetime software license.
- Purchases are unavailable during the closed beta.
6. Free-tier limits
The Seed free tier includes up to 5 trips, a 31-day maximum trip length, up to 5 collaborators per trip, 500 MB of photo storage with a 50-photo limit, 3 personalized Touch Grass actions per allowance day and 10 standard Kusa messages per allowance day, and access to 6 themes. Exact limits may be updated in the app; the Pricing page shows the current plan. We do not delete your existing data when you reach a limit. AI itinerary generation and AI import are temporarily unavailable on Seed during the closed beta.
7. Your content
You own the trip data, photos, and notes you create. By using the Service, you grant us a limited license to store and display your content so we can provide the Service, such as showing photos in the app, generating suggestions you request, or creating a shared trip link you request.
You must not upload content that is illegal, infringes third-party rights, or contains malware. We may remove content that violates these Terms.
8. Generated plans and outdoor safety
Generated itineraries, outdoor suggestions, and activity recommendations are created automatically and may contain errors, outdated information, or suggestions unsuitable for your circumstances. Always verify travel advice, including visa requirements, opening hours, permits, and safety conditions, through official sources before acting on it.
Outdoor safety: suggestions may be unsuitable because of weather, trail closures, terrain difficulty, available daylight, personal fitness, accessibility requirements, local laws, or other safety conditions. You are solely responsible for assessing conditions and using good judgment before going outside or traveling.
We are not liable for decisions made based on generated plans or outdoor suggestions.
9. Feedback and communications
You may voluntarily submit feedback, bug reports, suggestions, inconsistencies, testimonials, or other messages by email to spikethegreenyboy@gmail.com. In-app feedback forms may store your message, an optional category, coarse page context, and a hashed IP address for abuse protection, not for marketing lists.
We read submissions and use them to improve the Service. We may not respond to every message. Submitting feedback does not obligate us to implement a suggestion. Final product decisions remain with Grasstile.
10. Acceptable use
You must not:
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to another user's account or data.
- Scrape or bulk-export Service data through automated means.
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or copy any part of the Service.
- Use the Service in a way that violates applicable law.
- Abuse collaboration or sharing features to spam other users.
11. Service availability
We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may perform maintenance, update the Service, or change or discontinue features with reasonable notice where practical. During pre-launch, features may change or be removed without notice.
12. Disclaimer of warranties
The Service is provided “as is” without warranty of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all express or implied warranties, including fitness for a particular purpose.
13. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for any claim arising from these Terms or your use of the Service will not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or €10 if you use the free tier. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.
14. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Québec and the federal laws of Canada applicable in Québec. Disputes will be resolved by the competent courts in Montréal, Québec, Canada, except where mandatory consumer protection law in your jurisdiction requires otherwise.
15. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. We will notify you by email at least 14 days before material changes take effect. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
